Wedding at Big Draft Brewery, White Sulphur Springs WV - Trey & Diana

Trey and Diana’s wedding day was one of the most emotional days I’ve ever had as a wedding photographer. I always cry at weddings that’s no surprise but I was ugly crying after the ceremony.

Before the big day I had come to the conclusion that I would phase out weddings from our business in about a year or two. Mainly because I’m going to be in my 30s and wedding days are really hard on your body and just wear you down and it concerns me about how it might affect my future. But after their ceremony I just felt so fulfilled and I looked at Jake and he saw how much I was crying and he said “OK I know what you’re thinking, there’s no way you can ever stop doing weddings.”

That morning when we arrived, Jake had the wild idea to do video last minute. The only reason he even had his video gear with him was because we had stopped in Alderson at the strawberry festival to get footage of the town. Trey and Diana are friends of ours and I couldn’t think of a more deserving couple that I would rather gift something special like a wedding video to.

The ceremony was held on Trey’s family property where they had a private waterfall. Anyone who knows me knows I’m all about waterfalls. I will hike for 20 miles if I know that there is a beautiful waterfall at the end of the trail. The ceremony was something out of a dream. I can’t even say that it was perfect, it was more than that.

The reception was held at one of our favorite places in White Sulphur, The Big Draft Brewery. We love all of the people there and it was just such a great evening. The food was some of the best food I’ve honestly ever had in my life. And we travel a lot and try all sorts of restaurants, so that’s saying a lot.

Trey had a big surprise for Diana. He had learned a song on guitar and surprised her by singing it to her at the reception. It was honestly one of the sweetest moments I’ve ever seen at a wedding. If you haven’t taken a look at their wedding video make sure you do after you read this blog!

After their wedding day, Jake was so excited about the wedding video! I had gone to lunch with a friend the next day and he texted me and said “The video is done!” And I thought he was kidding but he actually finished this entire video in one workday! Probably not even an entire workday. Which is insane to me!!!

I’m the photo girl, I don’t take care of the video stuff but I do the final color corrections for it after it’s done. It took me another 2 to 3 weeks to finish their gallery and color correct the video. Meanwhile, Jake could finish the whole wedding video in one day!
